About

Mary K. McCurry, PhD, RNBC, ANP, ACNP is the PhD program director and a professor in the Adult Nursing Department at UMASS- Dartmouth. She is an advanced practice nurse certified in adult and acute care. Her programs of research focus on family caregivers, nursing theory and philosophy, nursing education, and caring for individuals with substance use disorders. Dr. McCurry is exploring international research collaborations to expand the use of educational interventions that decrease the stigma individuals with substance use disorders face when seeking healthcare. She has received numerous awards recognizing her expertise in doctoral student mentorship.
