About

Lamya Karim received her B.E. in Biomedical Engineering (Biomechanics) from Stony Brook University in 2007 and her Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2011. She trained as a post-doctoral research fellow at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center of Harvard Medical School from 2012 - 2016. Dr. Karim joined the University of Massachusetts of Dartmouth as faculty in 2016, where she is currently an Associate Professor of Bioengineering, conducting research in skeletal biology and biomechanics.
