Gláucia V. Silva is professor of Portuguese and Education at UMass Dartmouth. She is the author of Word order in Brazilian Portuguese (DeGruyter, 2001), co-author of four Portuguese language textbooks (including Práticas textuais: Escrita oralidade e pensamento crítico, Tagus Press, 2022), and co-editor of Inclusiveness beyond the (non)binary in Romance languages: From research to classroom implementation (Routledge, 2024). Prof. Silva’s research focuses on teaching and learning Portuguese as a heritage language, a topic on which she has facilitated several workshops and other professional development opportunities.
