About
Emma Wood is the Scholarly Communication Librarian at UMass Dartmouth. She started her career in public libraries before joining UMass Dartmouth in 2009. She served the Law Library for a decade providing legal research assistance to students, faculty, and the community. Emma has an OER Librarianship Certificate from the Open Education Network and advocates for free and low-cost teaching materials. In addition to OER, her research interests include Open Access as a publishing model and the concept of third place, spaces outside of work and home where people can connect and gather on a level playing field. She focuses on community and relationships as the heart of third places and libraries.
