About

Dr. Baboolal is an Associate Professor in the Department of Crime and Justice Studies at the University of Massachusetts – Dartmouth. Her interdisciplinary research examines violence against women at the intersecting identities of race, ethnicity, and (im)migrant status. Her earlier work explored violence against immigrant women from the English-speaking Caribbean (Trinidad & Guyana) residing in ethnic enclaves and her most recent research addresses how gendered and racialized violence (re)shapes the immigrant Muslim/Muslim American experience in the U.S. Dr. Baboolal’s research has been featured in Victims and Offenders, the International Journal of Criminal Justice Sciences, the Global Agenda for Social Justice, and more.
