Dr. Cappillino is an Associate Professor of Chemistry at UMD where he leads a research team of doctoral, masters, and undergraduate researchers. He has more than 15 years of experience in the synthesis, characterization, and electrochemistry of redox-active organometallic compounds, the last decade of which has focused on energy-storage materials. His areas of expertise include molecular and solid-state inorganic chemistry, meso- and nanostructured materials, electrochemistry, surface chemistry, and bioinorganic chemistry.
