Abstract
Due to a complicated history with mental health, I struggle with social interaction. In this thesis I investigated ways to bring attention and understanding to the many aspects of interpersonal relationships. This thesis includes the creation of small performances which recontextualize objects and put them in a new setting as the focus of a participatory artwork. I draw upon classical metalsmithing as well as my years of role-playing and theater training to create performances with physical objects which act as mediators for social interactions.
