Abstract
My work is the search for authenticity, in our perceptions of one another and in the spaces we inhabit. The way one looks at a person or an object communicates many things, like interest, hostility, affection, empathy... these paintings are a visual manifestation of me undertaking the task of contemplating and comprehending the breadth of the relationships that form my human experience. This thesis explores the relationships we form with one another and the role our surroundings play in the search for a felt, authentic representation.
