Abstract
As technological advancements are rapidly growing, digital media and related platforms have become the probable future of the design world. Innovations and breakthrough technology have led to many new artforms, as well as unique approaches in experiencing art. While traditional artforms are still playing their role in the art world, the ascendancy of digital art and its experiences is undeniable. As someone who grew up with comic books and printed magazines before entering professionally into the digital world, my desire is to discover a method of combining advantages of both analog and digital media into in one single work. Moreover, in this report, I also discuss another concern of my practice: cultural identity. Being, as I am, a foreigner living in the US, I have found a renewed interest in cultural identity and a uniqueness of all cultures. To be more specific, the immediate subject matter of this project lies in identifying and promoting Vietnamese identity by focusing more on a contemporary society and modern lifestyle. In its conclusion, this report discusses my process of merging digital and analog experiences in one piece of work, as well as my interest in cultural related topics.
