Abstract

Quantitative phase imaging refractive index thickness optical path length
The technological success of Digital Holographic Microscopy (DHM) in providing functional and morphological information on biological systems in a non-invasive way is still hampered by the inability to decouple both the sample’s refractive index (RI) and thickness from the reconstructed phase distribution. This work provides a literature review of the different methods to decouple the RI and thickness of biological samples, providing insights into their advantages and constraints.
