Abstract
In this paper, an explicit approach based on multivalued decision diagrams is suggested for reliability analysis of phased-mission systems undergoing common-cause failures. The approach addresses dynamic system structure functions, changing component failure behaviors, and multiple correlated component failures that take place at the same time due to a shared external cause. In addition, a hybrid binary and multivalued decision diagram approach is suggested to reduce the model complexity. An illustrative example is provided. The correctness and efficiency of the suggested approach is verified through comparison to an existing approach.
