Abstract
Biometrics and forensics applications for Homeland Security include access control, screening, tracking, and criminal investigation. This paper surveys biometrics and forensics research published in the Proceedings of the IEEE International Symposium on Technologies for Homeland Security. This survey should be useful for graduate students and researchers seeking to immerse themselves in these topics. It should also be beneficial to Homeland Security professionals wishing to obtain an overview of previous work. In addition to summarizing key research results, we also identify open data sets and developing trends worthy of continued exploration.
