Abstract
In this chapter, I reflect on writing consultants’ responses to AI and the collaborative approach we took as a writing center to develop our AI guidelines. I provide an overview of our spring 2024 training (the goal of the semester-long project, readings, and activities) to demonstrate how we developed our AI strategy. I also connect the resources we use to the specific action items we wrote together. My goal in sharing our work is to provide writing center directors and staff with ideas for developing an AI policy that fits the needs of their tutors, clients, and institution so that everyone at the writing center can answer the question, what is our writing center’s stance on AI?
