Abstract
What is identity and what are sexual identities? Which bodies are included and excluded from the notion of materiality (be it physical, scientific or literary)? Who holds the right to a voice and how is this right constructed? What are the boundaries established between genders and sexes, science and literature, local and global, and who or what mechanisms define and legitimize them? How can dialogue between different disciplinary fields be fostered? These are questions of this nature that guided the reflections proposed in this book, Heranças e Legados: Políticas (Inter)Sexuais Hoje [Inheritances and Legacies: (Inter)Sexual Politics Today] , promoting discussion around the idea of communities (social, literary and scientific) and inclusion policies, from the perspective of gender, sex and sexualities.
