Abstract

Heart Failure Nursing
Persons with heart failure (HF) symptoms delay up to 7 days before seeking treatment. Delay can result in worse symptoms and impact outcomes including longer length of stay, higher mortality rates, and worse quality of life. Demographic and clinical predictors of delay are described in the literature, but few studies have explored social, emotional, and behavioral predictors.
